Hello friends, my name is Hugo. Let me introduce myself by sharing with you some of my personal struggles:
I have had an up-and-down battle with the goals in my life. There are times when I get exhausted and broke from all the effort I do, especially when I don’t get the results I want. I give up and stop working out to achieve those goals.
The more obstacles and failures I experience, the less energy I have to do something about it. The less energy I have, the more failures I get. It’s a vicious cycle that robs me of my energy and makes me become anxious about any possibility of a better future.
One of my goals is to have a healthy body. After a long time with a less than ideal weight, I got to the point where I was sick of how I look and feel. At times it gets bad enough that I can’t walk down the street without feeling shame that overwhelms me. It makes me want to hide instead and stay out of people’s sight.
Of course, that’s not a healthy way to live. And despite of how I feel, I still believe that I can reach my goals as long as I keep working on it and not give up. Another thing I believe is that a natural solution is often the best solution.
There is a reason why nature works in the way it works. One of them is the natural diet of ancestors that kept them healthy and fit for hunting food and surviving in the wild. They followed a natural diet and activity routine that gave them the best health and least disease.
In the modern world, our food and nutrition is processed. On one hand, this is important to feed all the people in the world, but on the other hand it results in food that is lower in quality and filled with hazardous chemicals such as hormones and pesticides. Combine that with our sedentary lifestyle, and you get the recipe for obesity and various other diseases such as heart attacks, diabetes, and stroke.
The solution is to return to the natural way of eating natural foods and eating most of them at night. Our ancestors hunted during the day and feasted during the night. This way, our bodies can be fully active throughout the day and receive nutrition at the end of the day when we are relaxing and resting for the next day.
That’s what I learned from Nate Miyaki’s book, the Half Day Diet. And it’s also why I decided to write about it on this humble website, Simple Day Diet. I hope that by sharing with you my story and what I believe in then it can help you to achieve your goal of creating a healthy body and life.
